Synastry between two charts
Compare the saved chart of two people.
Screenshots show the Ukrainian app interface. The English guide describes the same controls.
What it is and why it matters
Synastry compares two separate chart: where the points of one person are located relative to the chart of another and what aspects between them are formed. This is a way to explore the interaction chart, keeping each separately.
When to use it
- When you compare chart partners or two other people.
- When you need to check a particular intercard pair.
Terms explained
- Synastry
- Comparison of two separate charts, including aspects between different people’s chart points. It differs from calculating a combined chart.
- Aspect
- An angular relationship between two chart points that matches an angle enabled in the calculation, such as a 90° square.
- Asc and MC
- The Ascendant (Asc) is associated with the intersection of the ecliptic and the eastern horizon. The Midheaven (MC) is associated with the upper part of the local meridian. Both depend on time and location.
Where to find it
Upper panel → synastry.
How to use it
- Create and save both charts.
- Open the first one, click on synastry and select a partner from the list.
- View the outer circle and intercard aspects. In the right panel switch the circle for each person's coordinates.
- For another partner, go back to the natal chart and click again on synastry; or use the circuit options in a complex chart with the background data panel.
Settings and options
Select an option to learn how it works and when to use it. The label beside its name shows whether it affects calculations, chart appearance or data.
PartnerData
Save another person's chart to compare with the current one.
- What changes
- The selection restructures the second circle. If there is no list, save another chart in the database first.
- When to use it
- Choose from proven data. If the partner’s time is approximate, the angles and houses of his chart require a separate assessment of accuracy.
CompactAppearance
A short representation of the intercard grid of aspects.
- What changes
- Enabled: less signature space; disabled: more details. The aspects found are unchanged.
- When to use it
- Turn off to study the exact orb; turn on to view the large grid.
Orb format: °′ / °′″ / 0.1°Appearance
The deviation from the exact aspect in degrees with min, seconds or degrees.
- What changes
- Changes the format of numbers and rounding of signatures; the allowance for calculation is the same.
- When to use it
- Seconds are convenient for accurate swirling. Ten degrees should not be read as angular switches.
Double-click an aspectAction
Opens the contact dynamic if there is a movement in time available for that pair.
- What changes
- It allows you to explore approximation and distance, not just current deviation.
- When to use it
- For forecasting contacts; check which moving and fixed points are selected.
The result
The partner's position is reflected by the external circle relative to the first chart.
Worked example
This is a teaching example; results for your chart may differ.
- Situation
- You want to find contacts between the Moon of one person and the planets of another.
- What to do
- Select a partner and look at the corresponding lines of the intercard grid.
- How to read the result
- The names of circles will help to understand who each point belongs to; the separate aspect is not a finished conclusion about the relationship.
For professional practice
Circle switching and intercard grid allow you to check bilateral links and positions without manually imposing chart.
What to check for a precise comparison
For conclusions dependent on houses and angles, estimate the accuracy of both people’s time; its uncertainty goes into comparison.
Keep in mind
If there are no other saved charts, first add the partner chart. The other record marked in the list can be used immediately.
