Astronomical data
Check the moment parameters, coordinates, disk, flash and orbits of planets.
Screenshots show the Ukrainian app interface. The English guide describes the same controls.
What it is and why it matters
Here are collected the physical and coordinate parameters behind the astrological figure: time, distance, declination, height above the horizon and other values. This is a tool of verification, not a ready interpretation.
When to use it
- When you want to understand what the coordinate in another table means.
- When checking the local position of the body or the numerical basis of the calculation.
Terms explained
- Declination
- The angular position north or south of the celestial equator. It is used for parallels and contra-parallels, separately from aspects in zodiacal longitude.
- UT, UTC and time offset
- Universal time provides a common time basis for calculations. The UTC offset converts local clock time to that basis; do not apply it twice.
- Asc and MC
- The Ascendant (Asc) is associated with the intersection of the ecliptic and the eastern horizon. The Midheaven (MC) is associated with the upper part of the local meridian. Both depend on time and location.
Where to find it
“Astronomic Data”.
How to use it
- Select the source of the moment: chart, background data or now.
- See UT, JD, ΔT, the inclination of the ecliptic, nations and local star time.
- Switch the tables “Geocentric”, “Disk and Glare”, “Horizontal”, “Heliocentric” and “Orbit”.
- For the asymmetry, height and time angle, check the location. Export the current table if necessary.
Settings and options
Select an option to learn how it works and when to use it. The label beside its name shows whether it affects calculations, chart appearance or data.
Moment: Chart / Background data / NowData
How to take time for astronomical tables.
- What changes
- The switch can change the date and location; the date/time fields allow you to manually specify the moment. This is not necessarily natal moment.
- When to use it
- Before the technical check, check the source and UT in the headline.
Moving planetsCalculation
Planets of predictive technique, the movement of which is compared to the radis.
- What changes
- The button on enables the planet, the off shuts off. “All” and “No” change the entire set. Moon gives a lot of short contacts.
- When to use it
- For longer cycles, start with slow planets; add Moon to study short intervals.
Geocentric / Disk and magnitude / Horizontal / Heliocentric / OrbitCalculation
Different systems of description: from the center of the Earth, visible disk, local horizon, from the centre of the Sun or orbital parameters.
- What changes
- Horizontal values require space; heliocentric values should not coincide with geocentric values. Units are in headings.
- When to use it
- To check the natal chart start with geocentric. Asymmetry and height read in horizontal, orbital period — in the "Orbit".
JD UT / JD TT / ΔT / Obliquity / Nutation / Sidereal timeAppearance
Technical parameters of the moment: different time scales and geographic coordinates.
- What changes
- Mean and true obliquity differ in whether nutation, the oscillation of the axis orientation, is included. ΔT is given in seconds.
- When to use it
- For accurate comparison, check one scale and type of value; these are the output values, not manual natal chart corrections.
The result
You will get numerical astronomical parameters for the selected moment.
Worked example
This is a teaching example; results for your chart may differ.
- Situation
- You want to know if the planet is above the horizon at the chosen moment.
- What to do
- Select the time and place and open the horizontal coordinates.
- How to read the result
- Height corresponds to this place and time; the zodiac sign does not answer this question.
For professional practice
Geocentric, horizontal and heliocentric tables allow to compare different systems of coordinates and document technical differences.
What to check for a precise comparison
Before comparison, agree the center, coordinate system, time scale and measurement units.
Keep in mind
Units are indicated in headings: degrees, kilometers, astronomical units, angular seconds, etc.
