Dignities, almutens and receptions
Compare the essential dignities, rulers, reception and dispositor chains.
Screenshots show the Ukrainian app interface. The English guide describes the same controls.
What it is and why it matters
dignities describe the position of planets according to the rules of the astrological school: for example, domicile or exaltation. reception and chains show the control relationships between planets. Here you can see from which rules the estimate is formed.
When to use it
- To study traditional rules of management.
- When you need to compare a significator on one selected system.
Terms explained
- Dignities
- Rules used by an astrological school to evaluate a planet’s position by sign and degree. Domicile, exaltation, bounds and other categories depend on the selected profile.
- Reception
- A rulership relationship: one planet occupies a dignity of another under a particular system. Mutual reception means the relationship works in both directions.
- Almuten
- The planet with the highest rulership score for a point or group of points under the chosen dignity rules. The result depends on the scoring system.
- Significator
- A point or planet assigned to represent a person, topic or object in a particular astrological technique.
Where to find it
Right panel → “Dignities”.
How to use it
- Select the management profile, triplicity, bounds and decans.
- Read the table dignities. Legend explains R, E, T, t, f, d, D and F; scores depend on the chosen system.
- See the almuten, reception, chain dispositor and planetary strength scoring Lilly below in the panel.
- If necessary, edit the table domicile and exaltations. To return the original values, use "Reset to profile".
Settings and options
Select an option to learn how it works and when to use it. The label beside its name shows whether it affects calculations, chart appearance or data.
RulershipCalculation
The table of correspondence of planets and signs. domicile means a sign of control; exaltation - a separate traditional position of dignities.
- What changes
- “Traditional”, “Modern”, “Sexpalova” and “USA (Globa)” set different profiles. The rulers, reception, chains and related assessments change.
- When to use it
- Select the school before starting the analysis. Do not compare almuten, calculated by different tables, as one result.
TriplicitiesCalculation
Manage groups of signs of one element: fire, earth, air or water.
- What changes
- Variants of Dorothea, Morin, Ptolemy and Lilly change the table; day or night chart may be taken into account by the rules of the profile.
- When to use it
- Use the option on which your methodology scores are based. This is a separate layer, not a change in the planetary sign.
Bounds (terms)Calculation
Irregular or specially defined areas within a sign, each with its own rulers.
- What changes
- Egyptian, Ptolemy, Chaldeans, Critodemus, Valentine and Avestine (level) set different boundaries and rulers; can change scores and almuten.
- When to use it
- To check the planet near the limit of therma, turn the exact degree and chosen table.
DecansCalculation
Three sections of 10° in each sign with assigned rulers, also called phases.
- What changes
- Chaldean, Modern, Avestinian, Manila, Indian, Indian with higher and Indian, another option change sequence rulers.
- When to use it
- Choose by method of assessment dignities; the same longitude may have different rulers decans in different tables.
Degree rulersCalculation
Table rulers of each individual degree area.
- What changes
- Classical, Modern, Avestistic, By signs, By signs with higher, Paul of Alexandria and Liber Hermetis (day/night) give different correspondences.
- When to use it
- Apply only in the methodology that uses this layer; to play it down the exact name of the variant.
DuodenariesCalculation
Divide the sign into 12 parts of 2°30′ with additional zodiac responses.
- What changes
- “Classic” and “Arabic” use different rules. The corresponding derivative indicator, not the input date chart, changes.
- When to use it
- When you explore the methods of the twelve parts, do not confuse it with the twelve houses.
Receptions and chains including outer planetsCalculation
Allows you to include higher planets in these two types of analysis.
- What changes
- Enabled: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto can participate according to the tables. Off: more traditional set. Sign and longitude of planets are not changed.
- When to use it
- Turn this option off for traditional analysis. If you include the outer planets, also check the rulership table.
Hayz, Arabic variantCalculation
A heiz is an estimate of the planet's conformity to the conditions of the day or night chart according to selected rules.
- What changes
- This setting changes how hayz is evaluated and marked in the table. Astronomical coordinates remain unchanged.
- When to use it
- Apply the option named in your source. To compare the results, record whether it was enabled.
Dignity columns in the planet tableAppearance
Adds compact estimates to the main table for viewing along with positions.
- What changes
- On: R E T t f d D F, H, N, U; off: table is more compact. Legend in the panel explains the tags.
- When to use it
- For a quick overview of dignities; the symbol R in this group should not be automatically read as retrograde — see title and legend.
Status: Ruler / Second ruler / Exaltation / Reset to profileCalculation
The editor of domicile and exaltations for each sign. The second rulers — an additional assignment if it is needed by the school; «—» means absence.
- What changes
- Changes apply to dignities, almuten, reception and chains. Exile and fall are associated with matching of the opposite sign. The throw returns the chosen profile.
- When to use it
- Edit only for conscious playback of the technique; note in the report that the profile has been changed manually.
House almutens: Dariot / Sign rulerCalculation
There are two ways to assign a planet house: by summing dignities in the grade of cusps or by managing its sign.
- What changes
- “Dario” uses scores and rules of settlement of none; “rulers of a sign” takes the rulers of a sign on cusps.
- When to use it
- If you have received another planet, first scratch the method. The note indicates the limitation of the absence of the fourth rule of Dario.
Solar conditions: Candidate setCalculation
The candidate set used to find the planet immediately before the Sun (doryphory) and the planet immediately after it (charioteer).
- What changes
- “Mercury-Pluto (ZET)” allows higher, “the seven traditional planets” limits to traditional planets.
- When to use it
- Choose the appropriate methodology set; compare the results for the same composition of candidates.
Chains: Domicile / Exaltation / Fall / DetrimentCalculation
Builds transitions from the planet to its rulers by the selected type of match.
- What changes
- The switch changes which table defines the relationship; cycles and centers of the chain can change.
- When to use it
- To compare different types of dispositors, clearly naming the chosen type.
Lilly strength scoring: planet rowAction
It reveals the components of essential and accidental scores.
- What changes
- It shows under which conditions scores are counted or deducted. This division has its own specified rules of triplicity and bounds.
- When to use it
- Check the contributions, not just the summary: Two planets may have the same amount for different reasons.
Via CombustaCalculation
A variant of the definition of "burned path" is a special zone of the zodiac in this tradition.
- What changes
- Change the check of the appropriate warning. Different options have different boundaries.
- When to use it
- To play the source, select the exact option; the tag is not an automatic yes or no answer to the question.
Available options
- 15° Libra — 15° Scorpio
- Fixed Zodiac site.
- 25° Libra — 6° Scorpio
- A larger location option.
- ±10° from Antares
- The zone is attached to the longitude of the star, not a fixed boundary of the sign.
The result
All related tables are listed according to your selected profile and your rows.
Worked example
This is a teaching example; results for your chart may differ.
- Situation
- Two planets have different scores.
- What to do
- Open their dignities and read the evaluation components and selected profile.
- How to read the result
- The score shows the result of these rules; it is not itself a general assessment of a person or a chart topic.
For professional practice
The single rulers system connects the dignities, almuten, reception and dispositor chains and allows you to check your own profile edits.
What to check for a precise comparison
Before comparison, fix the profile, sect and bounds and triplicity systems; the same table name does not yet guarantee the same rules.
Keep in mind
Change of table rulers also changes the almuten, reception and chains. Check the profile before comparing chart.
