Searching for an event in time
Find intervals when the given formula is executed.

What it is and why it matters
Event search finds the intervals of time when your formula is executed. It is an event in a formal sense — for example, a point in a sign or a given aspect is performed.
When to use it
- When a specific time is required.
- When you want to move from manual hunting dates to search.
Terms explained
- Astroformula
- A condition written in the app’s formula language. It can be checked on a chart or searched for in time, in a database or on a map.
- Radix
- The reference chart used for comparison. It is usually a natal chart, but a radix does not have to represent a birth.
- Transit
- Planetary positions at a selected moment. A forecast chart compares them with the unchanged points of the radix.
Where to find it
Search “Search for Events”.
How to use it
- Enter or select a saved formula and check its syntax.
- Set time and step. “Auto” days step for the fastest body formula.
- Choose whether the chart of the moment moves or transits relative to the fixed radix on the background data.
- Click “Search”. View the list and time scale; select “chart for this time” to start the interval found.
- If necessary, copy the list in ZET format or stop the long search.
Settings and options
Select an option to learn how it works and when to use it. The label beside its name shows whether it affects calculations, chart appearance or data.
FormulaCalculation
The condition in the special language of Zorya Astro: for example Sun.Ari checks the Sun in Aries. & means “and”, Echo — “or”. This is not a field of ordinary question to AI.
- What changes
- In search only selects moments, chart or places where the condition is true. The syntax error has a line and position.
- When to use it
- Start with one simple condition; check it in "Check formula" and then combine several.
- Example
- Sun.Ari & Mar.0.Sat: Sun in Aries and Mars' conjunction with Saturn. The presence of conjunction is checked with orb of the relevant rules.
Check / Run on chart / TraceAction
“Check” checks if the condition is correctly written. “Execute on chart” calculates it on the open chart. Tracking breaks the answer down into parts.
- What changes
- A syntaxically correct formula can give a “No” — this is the absence of a condition in this chart, not an error. Without open chart performance is unavailable.
- When to use it
- For a complex criterion, read the value of each tracking part to a mass search.
Formulas / Save formula… / Open .crt file…Action
A reused condition library. Name helps recognize the formula, .crt file translates the text of the criterion.
- What changes
- Selecting a record inserts it into the field. Deleting deletes the library record; opening a file does not mean that the search will be automatically launched.
- When to use it
- Name by task and methodology. After downloading, compile the formula, context chart and forecast circuit.
Period: Month / Year / 10 years / CustomCalculation
Time limits where the table or chart is looking for events. Available options depend on the screen.
- What changes
- Earlier/later buttons shift the entire period. Custom enables From and To. A longer period increases the amount of calculation.
- When to use it
- Start with the month for a quick review. To study rare events, expand the range; turn the time zone into the headline.
From / ToData
Beginning and end of the period, in the format of the date interface.
- What changes
- Set search boundaries, not a new date of birth. End should be later than the beginning; wrong boundaries need to be fixed.
- When to use it
- Use it to compare with a particular section of the event journal.
Use background timeCalculation
Choose between moving moment chart and comparing moving transits with fixed radix.
- What changes
- On: the radix stands, the predictive circle moves; use the apostroph for moving points. Off: the chart of the moment is checked in the chosen place.
- When to use it
- For transits to natal sun need a fixed radix. For sun in Aries in the sky is enough chart of moment.
Step: Auto / 1 min / 10 min / 1 hour / 6 hours / 24 hoursCalculation
Frequency of checking the formula within the period.
- What changes
- Auto chooses the step for the fastest body; the boundaries of the transitions found are clarified to a minute. A rough grid can miss a short condition between the samples.
- When to use it
- Start with auto; for short intervals, choose a smaller step. The clarification of boundaries does not guarantee that all intervals are detected by a rough grid.
Calculate / Search / StopAction
Launches calculations for current fields; during long work shows progress and the ability to stop.
- What changes
- Stop interrupts the current task. After changing the fields, check if the result has already been updated or if a new start is needed.
- When to use it
- First check the period and filters. For too large task, reduce the range or number of points.
Start / End / Duration / Chart for this time / Copy listAction
Time intervals at which the condition is fulfilled; the list can be transferred to the journal.
- What changes
- “Before” and “after end” mean the search window cut interval. Opening a line puts the chart at the appropriate moment.
- When to use it
- For full duration, extend the period; do not take the end of the search window for the beginning of the condition itself.
The result
The list will show the beginning, end and duration of the intervals of the formula.
Worked example
This is a teaching example; results for your chart may differ.
- Situation
- You are looking for a Sun stay in Aries within the year.
- What to do
- Check Sun.Ari, set the time of year and run the search.
- How to read the result
- The result is the time intervals of this criterion. For natal links a different setting with fixed radix is needed.

Time scale, list and chart allow to convert the criterion into a verified sample of moments.
What to check for a precise comparison
Small in duration state can be missed by a big step. Co-ordinate the way chart movement, period and time zone.

Too big manual step can miss a short event. The boundaries of the intervals found are clarified to a minute.
