Secondary, tertiary and minor progressions
Build a progressive circle for the right age.

What it is and why it matters
Progressions considers the development of chart on a symbolic scale of time. In secondary progressions, the day after birth corresponds to about one year of life; third and minor use other scales.
When to use it
- When you study progressive positions for a certain age.
- When you need to compare several predictive methods on one date.
Terms explained
- Progression
- A symbolic correspondence between time after birth and a person’s age, using a specified scale. It is a different calculation from the actual sky on the forecast date.
- Transit
- Planetary positions at a selected moment. A forecast chart compares them with the unchanged points of the radix.
- House and cusp
- Houses are the twelve chart sectors associated with life topics in astrological practice. A cusp marks the beginning of a house; its position depends on the time, location and house system.

How to use it
- Press “progressions” for secondary progressions or open F4 and choose a third or minor.
- Set the desired background date.
- Open the "Parameters" of the forecast circle: check the scale, the way the houses move and the conversion direction.
- View progressive positions and aspects to natal chart in the right panel.
Settings and options
Select an option to learn how it works and when to use it. The label beside its name shows whether it affects calculations, chart appearance or data.
ScaleCalculation
Determine how many days after birth correspond to one year of life. progressions is a symbolic re-calculation, not the actual sky of the current year.
- What changes
- Secondary: 1 days per year; Tertiary: approximately 13,37 days per year; Minor: approximately 27,32 days per year. “Own scale” uses a numerical field.
- When to use it
- To start with, secondary progressions are the easiest to check. For professional comparison, fix the scale; the same forecast date does not make different scales equivalent.
Ephemeris days per yearCalculation
A multiplier for converting age into the number of days ephemeris after birth.
- What changes
- It is shown only in its own scale; an additional number is required. 1 represents the daily scale of the secondary progressions.
- When to use it
- For a special technique that clearly sets a coefficient; do not enter here the number of days of a calendar year instead of the scale.
Houses: Fast / MC at 1° per year / MC following the progressed SunCalculation
A separate rule for the movement of progressive houses.
- What changes
- “Fast” – houses at a progressive moment; “MC at 1° per year” moves natal MC at a given pace; “MC at the progressive Sun” uses solar arc and restores houses from MC.
- When to use it
- Even in the same position of planets, the angles can vary. For comparison, compare this list.
ConverseCalculation
Change the direction of symbolic counting from birth.
- What changes
- Off: direct movement by method; on: the progressive moment is taken before birth for the same age.
- When to use it
- Leave off for direct progressions; only turn on for special study conversion techniques. This is not the planet’s retrograde.
The result
Chart will show progressive positions for the selected date and parameters.

- Set the appropriate background date and check the secondary progressions parameters.
- How to read the result
- The table will show symbolically calculated positions, not transits the heaven of the birthday.

Do not compare two progressions by name alone: match the scale, movement houses and direction.

For custom scale, use the days ephemeris option for year if it is available in the selected mode.
